Keelin O’Brien is an engineer and master of business administration. She has extensive experience in all aspects of the electricity industry and more generally in the energy sector. She worked as a senior manager with the Electricity Supply Board in Ireland for over twenty years in many areas of the business from generation to supply and distribution. In her later years in the ESB she was a distribution project manager working on the deregulation of the electricity industry in Ireland. In 2001 she moved to the Commission for Energy Regulation where she was responsible for electricity trading, tariffs and distribution networks. She worked expensively on European markets and was a member of many European task forces and committees. She is an EU training expert and has been employed by the EU Commission on a number of projects focussing in recent years on European developments. In 2015 she set up her own consulting business providing services to Irish and international clients.
